Sarasota Memorial's First Physicians Group honored for superior performance
The national Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) recently named Sarasota Memorial's First Physicians Group a “better performer” because of its superior customer satisfaction and operational performance compared with similar medical group practices around the country.
First Physicians Group has received MGMA recognition for its superior performance for seven of the last eight years. The primary care medical group includes 43 physicians and seven physicians’ assistants/ARNPs in 11 locations throughout the region.
MGMA, the premier membership association for professional administrators and leaders of medical groups, released its findings in its “Performance and Practices of Successful Medical Groups: 2009 Report.” The study, a benchmarking standard, profiles physician practices that have demonstrated success in one or more areas of operation related to financial management and customer service. First Physicians Group was recognized for both its sound financial management as well as patient satisfaction.
The MGMA distinction is First Physicians Group’s most recent national recognition. During the last several years, the group also has ranked in the top 10 percent of the nation's physician practice groups for patient satisfaction, according to Press Ganey customer service surveys. The survey compares First Physicians Group with hundreds of other practice groups, many of which are associated with major academic medical centers.
