Sarasota Memorial ER & Healthcare Center Laboratory Receives
Nation’s Highest Accreditation
The Sarasota Memorial ER & Healthcare Center Laboratory – located in the North Port Medical Plaza – has been awarded accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.
The stringent inspection ensures the highest standard of care for laboratory patients. Specifically, the national designation recognizes excellence in facilities’ equipment, qualifications of staff, quality control and safety program, and sound management practices.
About Sarasota Memorial’s ER & Health Care Center in North Port
Sarasota Memorial’s ER & Health Care Center in North Port is one of five freestanding ERs in the state of Florida, and one of the state’s largest, with walk-in and ambulance entrances, trauma, triage and exam rooms and a 23-hour observation unit. It is open and staffed by Sarasota Memorial’s board-certified emergency medicine physicians and emergency care nurses 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Attached to the ER, the companion health care center provides a full array of outpatient services, including imaging tests such as X-ray, ultrasound, digital mammography, CT and MRI scans, a clinical laboratory for diagnostic tests, rehabilitation/physical therapy programs, home health and other outpatient services.
